- Succeeding in reproduction of spatial data for the first time in Korea, proving the phase of domestic technology

ArkData (CEO Ko Kwang-yun), a company specializing in data replication integrated solutions, announced on the 23rd that it supports Oracle Spatial data reproduction function in version 2.0 of Ark for CDC, the CDC (Changed Data Capture) solution.

‘Spatial" is a function that supports storing and managing the spatial data in DBMS (Data Base Management System) at RDBMS (Relational Data Base Management System). Spatial data refers to information on the geographic location and characteristics of features on the Earth that are often used in GIS (Geographical Information System). Spatial data information is stored in a coordinate format so it can be displayed and searched, and can be used for map search services on portal sites, location search for vehicle navigation, information search based on geographic information commonly found on web pages of public institutions and so on. Also, spatial data can be used to express geographic characteristics, but also includes data from a CAD (Computer-Aided Design) or CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) system apart from geographic information.

Although such spatial data information can be processed by a separate engine instead of the DBMS, it is recently common to use a format mixed with a GIS-related engine and DBMS. Meanwhile, due to the unique characteristics and structure of GIS data, the only CDC solution that supports spatial data reproduction was a foreign product. However, it was hard to institute the product easily, not only because of the construction cost but also the high cost of maintenance control.

ArkData announced on the 23rd that it has added Oracle Spatial Data Reproduction Function to the new version of Ark for CDC so that heterogeneous data reproduction technology can be effectively used in various fields. This was the first of its kind among domestic products, and ArkData succeeded in enhancing the position of domestic software technology.

Ark for CDC is a heterogeneous data reproduction solution to which the log analysis engine technology developed independently in Korea for the first time is applied and it has gained public favor in the industry in terms of low total cost of ownership, guaranteeing business continuity and increasing business efficiency when building and operating the system.
