ArkData released ‘Ark Connector for Hadoop’ for supporting the Hadoop platform

2024-05-30

ArkData released ‘Ark Connector for Hadoop’ for supporting the Hadoop platform - Expanding the coverage of CDC technology for real-time bigdata on Hadoop   As real-time data processing becomes increasingly vital for big data analysis, ArkData (CEO Ko Kwang-yun), a leader in real-time data replication solutions, and Bigidean (CEO Kwak Sang-min), a specialist in big data technologies, have collaboratively launched the "Ark Connector for Hadoop." This innovative product facilitates the real-time replication of data changes from RDBMS to Hadoop.       Hadoop, an open-source framework predominantly used for big data analysis, excels in large-scale data processing through its distributed storage (HDFS) and distributed processing (MapReduce) capabilities. By leveraging multiple servers to distribute data and tasks, Hadoop significantly enhances the performance of large-scale data processing. Traditionally, the extraction and loading of structured data into Hadoop have relied on batch processing methods using ETL (extract, transform, and load) solutions. However, this approach often hampers real-time analysis due to the increased load on the source data server, which impedes smooth data extraction. ArkData has developed a Hadoop connector to address these challenges based on CDC (change data capture) technology. This connector replicates changes in the source database in real time, ensuring that the latest data is continuously reflected in Hadoop. This real-time synchronization enables companies to make swift and accurate decisions, enhancing their competitiveness and significantly improving operational efficiency. Moreover, traditional ETL processes can be costly and inefficient, as they periodically dump and reload entire datasets. In contrast, ArkData's Hadoop connector, which employs CDC technology to transmit only changed data, optimizes the use of network resources and Hadoop clusters. This not only enhances system performance but also substantially reduces processing costs. Beyond Hadoop, ArkData also offers CDC-based Kafka connectors, facilitating real-time big data integration in Kafka environments. The company continues to innovate, developing technologies to support a broader range of big data platforms in the future.
