ArkData Registers 'Ark product line' in Oracle Cloud Marketplace

2022-04-20

ArkData, a company specializing in integrated solutions for data replication, announced on the Oct. 27th,2021 that it has registered its Ark solution product line on the "Oracle Cloud Marketplace" to activate cloud services and strengthen its business.   The Ark product line includes "Ark for CDC", a real-time heterogeneous data replication solution, "Ark for Oracle", a dedicated real-time Oracle database (DB) replication solution, and "Ark for FR", a real-time file replication solution.   Most cloud providers offer block storage replication-type disaster recovery (DR) systems. With this method, even if only a single data is changed, changes occur in multiple storage locations in order to manage the single data, resulting in high network transmission costs. As such, maintenance costs can vary greatly depending on the choice of a solution that links data on the cloud or replicates data when configuring the DR system.   The Ark product line only transmits a "redo log" containing all changes to the DB. Due to the low network transmission volume, the network cost is low, and data management is efficient. Because of this, it is possible to replicate and transfer data in a "Cross Region" that stores data in different regions at a low cost. When it comes to data migration in particular, operational downtime is extremely short, and it supports zero-down time migration to enhance operational continuity.   The main solution, "Ark for CDC", supports heterogeneous data replication that can be replicated even if the database management system (DBMS) is different. Data synchronization between the cloud and on-premises is possible using various open source DBs.   The file replication solution, "Ark for FR", is suitable for backing up user applications or WEB/WAS servers. Cloud storage backup or snapshot operates on the basis of allocated storage regardless of stored data or files, but with Ark for FR, replication occurs based on the file that need to be managed.   “The number of corporate systems moving from on-premises to the cloud is increasing rapidly. Many customers are already using Oracle Cloud with Ark products and have various references, we will make it possible for more customers to use data in Oracle Cloud more conveniently by registering products onto the Oracle Marketplace.” - CEO, Koh Gwang-yeon   All three Ark product line solutions can be found by typing in "Ark" in the Oracle Cloud Marketplace.
Arkdata proves its technological prowess with the success of Kyungpook National University disaster recovery system construction project

2022-04-19

- Increased safety through data file duplication through real-timereplication - Leading cost-effectiveness by completing projects withoutadditional lines  - Maintaining business continuity in case of failure or disaster byestablishing a safe center environment   Arkdata (CEO KwangyunKo) announced on the 18th that it had successfully completed the project to establish a disaster recovery system for Kyungpook National University.     Arkdata is a company specializing in datareplication integration solutions. This Kyungpook National University projectwas promoted to protect the safe database of 30,000 students. In addition, itis a project to prevent business disruption caused bydata center failures and disasters in advance. Tothis end, Arkdata installed Ark for Oracle for the short-distance DR configurationof an 8-instance Oracle DB, and at the same time Arkdatainstalled Ark for FR, a file replication solution for file replication withinthe server disk. The recently renewed "Ark for FR4.0" applied a real-time file replication function and allowed onlychanged data to be replicated to other disks in real-time, and it enhanced thesafety of data files.     Through this project, Kyungpook NationalUniversity has a secure data center infrastructure. In fact, the recovery timeobjective (RTO) has been dramatically reduced. As a result, in the event of afailure, data can be normalized within a short time with the switch-over/fail-over function of the primary and standbyDBs. This allows data center to maintain the businesscontinuity.      An official from Kyungpook NationalUniversity said, "We are very satisfied in terms of cost and system byestablishing an environment that can efficiently and safely manage numerousundergraduate students" academic data without additional line extension. It isexpected that rapid response will be possible by introducing the latesttechnology by considering problematic situations with the possibility ofspecial occurrence.”      Arkdata CEO KwangyunKo said, “In consideration of the university"s database environmentwhere information is updated in real-time, we applied the new version of Ark for FR 4.0, which has strengths in recovery and speed. Thanks to Ark for FR, the project wassuccessfully completed."
